Window Texture

Window Texture

I was trying to figure out how to get the window as a texture, it had some cool ripples and bubbles. I just took a picture and let the reflection tell the story of how the glass had warped. I did not crop this image, but I did add some saturation and vibrance. I also added some warmer tones to it.

Wood Texture

Wood Texture

There were some cool wood buildings. This specific building had the coolest wood of all of them. I kept the main knot out of center. I also cropped the picture a bit so that all you saw was this really knotty piece of wood. I added some of the light back into the shadows so that you could see the texture there. By just adding a bit of contrast and warming the picture it looks a lot more like the wood as I saw it.

Close-up subjects

Leather Bag

Leather Bag

While everyone was taking pictures of the models I realized that they had left there bag on the ground next to them. I love the detail in this subject. You can see the dust on the leather… it makes me just want to brush it off, but really adds character. I cropped it so that the eight brass decorations that were in focus were at the intersection of the top and left third.

Shutter Hinge

Shutter Hinge

While I was taking pictures of the cool glass I realized there was this really rusty old hinge holding up the shutters on this house. I added some contrast and clarity so that the hinge would really pop out.

Desk and Wood

Desk and Wood

This image combines a desk from inside the school and the craggy wood siding from one of the other buildings. I like the complementary theme of wood seeing the desk is made of wood. To do this, just overlay one image on the other, drop the opacity and brush off where you don’t want the front image to show at all.

Spur and Paint

Spur and Paint

This spur was inside one of the buildings that was only open for part of the time. I am so glad I thought to look in here.
