brett’s intro

Born in Bethlehem Pennsylvania I have always wanted to go to the original Bethlehem in the Holy Land. This summer I was blessed to be able to go on a study abroad to Jerusalem where we took field trips to Bethlehem, Galilee, and the Jordan River to commemorate Jesus Christ’s life. We were also able to go to such places as Istanbul Turkey, and Petra Jordan.

I love traveling. This year alone I have lived in Idaho, Arizona, Jerusalem, California, and now back in Idaho. With traveling you get an opportunity to understand people in their own places. They can be themselves and you can be fully enveloped by their culture. I am planning a backpacking trip with my sister for next summer. And a new place that I am adding to my bucket list of places to travel is Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

When I am not traveling I love to listen to music, and spray paint. I’m not very good at spray painting, but I am practicing to get better. Each of these activities let’s me express myself and the things that are important to me. I hope to be able to use photography as well to express the way that I feel towards life.

I have taken thousands of pictures with a little point-and-shoot camera. I don’t have any real training in how to take good pictures aside from a few blogs and books that I have read on the subject. Having taken an intro to visual media class at school I have some beginner training in Adobe’s Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I really want to learn how to compose a beautiful shot with the subjects that I choose to photograph.

  1. I’m a little bit jealous of your travels. Seems like you have been on some very fulfilling trips! I bet this class will help you with documenting your travels through photography!
